The dial of the MRG-B2100 at first glance might seem like a simple textured dark dial, but in fact, it has a 3D-texture based on a Japanese woodworking method called kigumi. This technique involves interlocking wooden parts without using metal fixtures. A seemingly simple construction featuring ingenious joints to create something truly special. The same goes for the MRG-B2100; Besides the beautifully crafted dial, the watch is a study in craftsmanship and combining of innovative materials. Assembled at Casio’s Premium Production Line in Yamagata, the case and (27 individual!) bezel components are made from the super-hard titanium alloy, Ti64. The bezel top is fashioned from COBARION, an alloy that is four times harder than pure titanium, and the bracelet is made of another special titanium alloy, DAT55G, which is both extremely hard and highly workable. With a case size of 44.4 × 49.5 × 13.6mm, it is an average size G-Shock, yet perfectly wearable, especially due to the lightweight materials, while the multi-guard construction of case and bezel ensures the watch is extra resistant to shocks. All the different watch parts have a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating for even better scratch resistance. The watch is operated by Casio’s module 5718, which in addition to Multiband 6 radio controlled time adjustment, offers smartphone pairing via Bluetooth. Other functions include an automatic calendar until 2099, low-battery alert, and a Super Illuminator LED. Other app functions are automatic switching to summer time (DST), auto and one-touch time correction, phone finder, hand-alignment correction, and Time & Place log. This G-Shock watch has a case made of Ti64 Titanium with a diameter of 44.4 mm and is fitted with a Titanium strap. Inside the case lies a Casio movement and the watch features a Single anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The watch is 20ATM. This means the watch is suitable for diving.
