Description

The design of the MRG-B5000 watches from of G-Shock’s premium collection is based on the first G-Shock from 1983. The brick pattern on the dial symbolizes their shock resistance; Throw a G-Shock against a wall, and it still keeps running. In this tradition, the craftsmen of Casio's exclusive factory in Yamagata, where the MR-G premium watches are still largely produced by hand, have passed a real test of metalworking skills with this series. In every detail, these watches are the absolute top in finish which further enhances the ultimate shock resistance of G-Shock. The case is made of a super hard Ti64 titanium alloy and features a bezel made of COBARION®. This is a cobalt-chrome alloy that is no less than four times harder than pure titanium. The 25 parts of the bezel are individually polished and screwed for a highly detailed and flawless appearance. Springs and silicone buffers also guarantee excellent shock absorption and protection of the MRG movement with gold-plated back cover. The band is also made of a titanium alloy, DAT55G, which is three times harder than pure titanium and highly resistant to scratches and impact. The rivets are manually screwed into the bracelet as opposed to other G-Shock series where the rivets are cast. The silver toned MRG-5000D-1DR is finished with a hairline polish and a titanium carbide coating for striking high-gloss details. The functional performance of the watch is also excellent, with radio-controlled time calibration and smartphone pairing via Bluetooth®. Read less
